Layers and accessories are needed in the winter months to keep you snug and warm, and hence they are a great way to keep your look super stylish. Summer months always bring great fashion items, but realistically it is difficult to wear too many stylish accessories or create any individuality by layering. Winter on the other hand is literally made for layers, and more layers, so pile on the style!
The heritage look is set to be a big style with winter. Tweed fabric is everywhere from hats to jackets, and country casuals are all around. As far as accessories are concerned, Argyle socks and scarves allow you acknowledge the heritage style without going overboard and covering yourself in tweed. It is also less of a dint to make on the wallet when you purchase some accessories rather than an entire wardrobe.
Leather gloves are also another classic look that is strong this winter. Black, tan and gray are the colors of the season and will certainly finish off any outdoor look. Choose a color that will blend with your current range of jackets or coats. Theres no point having a beautiful pair of gloves that will clash dreadfully with your favorite jacket and likewise having a pair to match a rarely worn coat means the gloves will not get the wear they deserve. Leather is a highly functional fabric for cold weather, so be sure they will get used!
Knitted sweaters are always a staple item in winter wardrobes and this year is no different in that respect. The current collections show sweaters in the two extremes the big chunky knit and the slim-fitting fine knit. Find the style that suits you best. Stick to the wealth of grays and neutrals that are in all stores, or venture into a bolder frame of mind with a bright Nordic pattern. Either way you will be warm and cosy, as well as being right on trend!
The obvious way to keep warm this winter is by investing in some good scarves and hats. Pick a bold colour for your scarf, as this will contrast with any darker or more muted tones elsewhere in your wardrobe. Bright colors are very popular in scarves this season so you will certainly be keeping up with the latest style when you throw some colour around your neck! Now all you need is a hat flat cap or wide-brimmed to complete your look and keep the winter chill at bay!
